Obituary: Kristi Ann Roberts Porter and Robert Shaun Porter

Kristi Ann Roberts Porter 1947 ~ 2006 and Robert Shaun Porter 1972 ~ 2006 Kristi Ann Roberts Porter passed away April 24, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while vacationing in Budapest, Hungary. Born in Salt Lake City to Dale Rex and Frances Cleo Roberts, June 13, 1947. Kristi graduated from Olympus High School, and graduated from the University of Utah, magna cum laude. She married Robin K. Porter in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 13, 1968. Kristi and Rob moved to San Jose, CA, where they raised seven children. Kristi was a beloved wife and a loving mother. She served on the Oak Grove School District School Board for ten years with a strong commitment to the improvement of education and an understanding of its importance on future generations. She was active in Church and served as Relief Society President for the Bernal Ward in San Jose, CA. In all of these callings, Kristi served with a zeal and commitment that was obvious to all who knew her. She had the talent for seeing the potential in her loved ones and inspiring the best out of those around her. Kristi is survived by her lifelong sweetheart, husband, Robin K. Porter; six children, Melissa (Michael) Pyefinch, Ryan (Stephanie), Michelle, Amy, Andrew (Tara), and Christopher; five grandchildren, Shawn, Dale, Melanie, Annie, and Kalea, all who reside in CA; her father, Dale Rex Roberts, SLC; siblings, Douglas D. (Barbara) Roberts and Ginger (Douglas) Brooks, SLC. Preceded in death by her mother, Frances Cleo Roberts. Robert Shaun Porter passed away April 24, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while vacationing in Budapest, Hungary. Born May 2, 1972, to Robin K. and Kristi Ann Porter. Robert was a long-time resident of San Jose, CA. He served a LDS Mission in The Dominican Republic, and graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Robert was a brother and a friend to everyone he met. His humor and love radiated through everything he did. Robert is survived by his father, Robin K. Porter; three brothers, Ryan (Stephanie), Andrew (Tara), and Christopher; and three sisters, Melissa (Michael) Pyefinch, Michelle, and Amy; five nieces and nephews, all whom reside in CA; his grandfather, Dale Rex Roberts; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Utah. Preceded in death by his grand-parents, Frances Cleo Roberts, and Lyman and Bernice Porter. Funeral Services will be held for both, May 3, 2006, 4:00 p.m. at the LDS Church, 4977 San Felipe Rd., San Jose, CA. Interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, San Jose, CA, May 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. A Trust Fund has been set up for Scholarships in Kristi and Robert Porters' names at Oak Grove School District, 6578 Santa Teresa Blvd., San Jose, CA 95119.

Kristi was my cousin and all the family misses her very much. We can remember all the bbqs and grandma and grandpa house in sugarhouse.     Love your older cousin Craig Emery
