I never thought that I would be divorced twice and gain 50 lbs starting at age 50. After being married for 16 years my wife left me with our 2 youngest daughters. She left behind my oldest daughter and sons. My oldest daughter left the home before she was 18. After a more then a year of custody deliberation the children were left with the parent that they had already been living with. I was a single dad for 12 years. During the first year of my 2nd marriage my youngest son Travis at age 19 years past away. It was difficult living with 3-5 step daughters and the marriage only lasted 3 years.
After graduating from BYU I had various jobs. The last 20 years up to age 62 I worked in the field of Agriculture. This is the science and care of trees and shrubs. I was among the first 50 certified Arborists in Utah. My two sons have their own businesses in the same field. That makes me proud to have taught them the necessary skills.
For the past 9 years I have experienced severe depression and I have been giving assistance to a difficult sons business doesn't help any. My life has ben saved four times during my life. I think I will be around for a while.
During my 70's I hope to do more temple work and visit National Parks.
In the Fall of 1998 I went to the Sacred Grove and on down to Washington DC, that was a great trip!
I also served an LDS mission in Southern California
Right now, my best friends are my Grandchildren and me gardening. Two Titans have been supportive and caring to our family, that is Adam Layton and Bill Beesley. I am especially grateful to those two friends :)
