Janis B. Stanfield
1947~2015
Cottonwood Heights, UT-Our sweet, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister Janis B. Stanfield passed away January 14, 2015, in her home surrounded by loved ones, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born May 6, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wendell Lewis Butcher and Irene Bergener Butcher. She married her sweetheart Chris Stanfield on March 10, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was an active member of the LDS Church where she held many leadership positions. She enjoyed spending time and playing games with her family and watching Bear Lake sunsets at the family cabin. She had a passion for nature, mountains, birds, flowers and all things beautiful. Janis had many talents including singing, teaching, quilting and baking. She was truly a gentle soul and a sweet spirit.
She is survived by her loving husband Chris, 4 children: Jeff (Nanci), Jerry (Shasha), Jason (Tammy) and Jane (Jared) Carter, 6 grandsons, and siblings: Steve, Dian, Sharon, Susan, Michael and Sandra. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 17 at the Brighton Point Ward, 3455 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.) A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 am prior to the services.
