Ken Kohler

Patt and I reunited a little over two years ago shortly after she had been diagnosed with  lung cancer.  Her son and daughter-in-law moved her from her home in Taylorsville to their home in College Park, Georgia, where she lived with them while she began treatment at City of Hope Cancer Center of America in nearby Atlanta.

About once a week either I would call her from Salt Lake or she would call me and we would talk about our respective days.  She raved about her son’s cooking and how he and his wife fussed over her and made certain that she took the correct medications at the right times. They would often take her on day outings and treat her to occasional nights out for dinner.  She was so very happy to be with her family.

She had two cats that she loved but they died before her move to Georgia. After the move she found herself in a house with three dogs.  Two “yappy” (her words) chihuahuas and a large mut.  The chihuahuas soon warmed to her and would cuddle with her in bed.

Patt was a strong, compassionate, and brave human being.  A hero to her family.  I am lucky to have reconnected with her.

You are missed Patt.
