In Memory

Edward Voda

Date Deceased:  March 27, 1978

He is buried in the Holladay Cemetery.  His grave is listed on Billion Graves.  The picture of the grave marker has a symbol which looks like a police badge but the picture was of insufficient quality to read the inscription of the symbol.  I had heard years ago that he was involved in an auto accident.  At this time I have not been able to find an obituary.   Craig Russell

Eddy Voda and I grew up together in the 50's on Memory Lane.  Both our parents had horses and we were involved in the Olympus Mounties, a kids riding club.  He and I were always at each other's houses and our families often went on camping trips together in the Uintas with the horses.  Summers would find us tubing in Cottonwood Creek and having adventures in the giant field just west of Memory Lane where the Cottonwood Mall would eventually be built.

He had been a Salt Lake County Sheriff's Deputy for a number of years when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  I ran into him one night in the mid 70's at the Pine Cone in Sugar House.  He told me that he had finally met the woman he wanted to marry.  It wasn't much later that he passed away.
